A report from with Ron Pulley, Gulf Breeze Park and Recreational Director.

We are investigating improving the lighting in the Bark Park so that it will be safe to take dogs to the park after work in the winters. GBDL has agreed to contribute to the cost of this improvement and we are working to see which improvement will give us the best lighting.

We need to be sure children under 9 are not in the park and those thru 15 must have an adult with them. Remember all dogs are to off-leash in the park.

Remember the small dog side is for small dogs, 25 pounds and less.

Remember all dogs using the park need to be registered with the city and have city tags each year. City tags are due on anniversity of date of purchase, 2011 tags are now available.

NOTE Rabies vaccincations are good for 3 years now in the state of Florida, you may have to get a note from your vet saying that you had serum that was for three years. Most vets will mail you tags for the currect year.

Steering Committee Board Briefs

The Board has been very busy planning for a great 2011.

Chips Fosgate and Malcolm Whitman have been working on the trail to the dog beach. Carol Pulley has agreed to work to get a grant to improve the trail and dog beach as needed.

Carolyn Whitman has been working with Ron Pulley to get the lighting in the park improved.

Park update!

NO CHILDREN under 9 allowed in the park. Call the rec center to help enforce this at 934 5140. This is very important!

We need your help. Please remember the rules and help others learn them. No children, no aggressive dogs, no food or cigarettes, and you must pick up poop.

Gulf Breeze Dog Lovers are working as educators in the park, helping people learn the rules. You will know us by our blue shirts that say Dog Lovers. We also do "poop" patrol and get extra missed piles.
